Did you know that July is Juvenile Arthritis Awareness Month?
According to the Juvenile Arthritis Association, almost 300,000 patients under 16 years of age are affected.
Arthritis is a blanket term for various types of autoimmune and inflammatory conditions. Examples of Juvenile Arthritis include; Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis, Juvenile Dermatomyositis, Juvenile Lupus, Juvenile Scleroderma, Kawasaki Disease, and Fibromyalgia. Each condition has its own set of symptoms, but joint swelling, pain, and redness are common among them all. While there is no known cure, there are treatments to alleviate symptoms and manage pain.
